About

Welcome!

I’m Kate Greenstock, founder of Wild Rubies. The one with the lush shades above.

If you’re a mother, then you’re already having an impact on the world. Yes indeed-ee.

You’re probably here because burning in your belly is the fire of something new – a business, a movement, a desire. Something really that only YOU can give to the world, in your own unique way. You’re in the right place.

Why do I care?

Because there is no substitute for you. Truly. You are God’s masterpiece – a wildly beautiful ruby – and you’re designed to make an impact through your passions and gifts. My job is to witness you as you emerge from the grit of rock face, with the clarity, cut and brilliance you need to grow your work. Why rubies? More here.

Life to the full

I’ve been married to Andrew since 1999 and I’m mum to 3 children, one boy and two girls (born 2003, 2005 and 2009). We live in Kingston upon Thames, very close to Richmond Park, where I love to breathe, cycle and deer stalk. In fact you’ll see me on my bike every day, my littlest in the bum-hugging child seat behind, silk scarf flowing, trying to avoid the fate of Isadora Duncan. You’ll also find me, daily, close to my thermomix, mostly making soups in primary colours.

I love using my hands. Give me a drum – taiko, djembe, you name it – and I’ll beat it. Watching the flow of ink or pastel on a page is pure (amateur) pleasure. Clay on a potter’s wheel has so far eluded my hands, but it’s one of my great plans. Touch is at the heart of the work I do with birthing mothers and babies.

I am excited about women’s voices, and using mine to amplify theirs. My voice is wired to sing, vigorously. My children resist, but I just cant help it, especially in the company of my beloved sisters. My voice loves words too – a blank page a very inviting, spacious place.

I had an epiphany sort of time after the birth of my first babies. Read more about my messy stuff here. It  is when I began coach training with the Coaches Training Institute (CTI), and started my journey as a childbirth educator/mentor, initially with NCT and now Birthing from Within. It is where I really found my ‘voice’, in this birth and parenting place of knowing very little, learning much and seeing what’s possible. This is also where I am re-learning the power of curiosity and play, what it means to connect to the roar of my instincts, and the galvanising momentum of reflection as it creates action.

I am a Christian – working with people of all faiths and none. God wants us to know our immeasurable value, how we are ‘fearfully and wonderfully made’ (Psalm 139), and being crafted for a purpose. And he’s all about hands and voices too – using ours to shape the world.

I am an interculturalist – I have spent half of my career overseas – living in Japan, Iran and the UAE, so I get that we’re all so brilliantly unique and also shaped and influenced by the rock were were born into – or onto.

Transition or change is a way of life for me – In my adult life, I’ve never lived on any continent for longer than three years. The tugs of any life change are real, challenging and rich in learning.

Is this the time for that fire of yours to be set ablaze? If you are up for some challenge, tender holding and a song of life sung over you, check out my coaching and birth services.

wendy-newI hope you know by now that I think you rock, but I guess I felt compelled to reinforce that – and to say that what you do and who you are really affects people in the most pure and positive way. I feel incredibly grateful to have you in my life.
